Outdoor lighting

I love being outside....I would love being outside even more with any of these outdoor lighting options from the wonderful and fabulous, Pottery Barn. See all options here (some are even on sale, whoohoo!) bring on summertime!

I feel so out of the loop, I hadn't heard of Terrain until a very shocked Sarajane filled me in on what I had been missing... I don't need to say much, the site speaks for itself - so many unique treats available, and if I ever make it to Philadelphia I will most certainly have to try out the cafe! Owned by Urban Outfitters Inc. the amazing minds of Free People, Anthroplogie and of course Urban Terrain fits in like a glove and I am embarrassed to not have known until now! So, go enjoy the site!

African luxury tents

It snowed yesterday. all day. to say I am over the snow is a horrendous understatement. so, I thought it would help if I searched the web for my dream vacation. in hindsight I think it hurt more than helped, but oh well.. needless to say in my search I found myself back in Africa... after our 08' trip (here and here) I am constantly reliving the amazing experience. I wanted to highlight the luxurious "tent" camps (the outside is durable canvas so you can hear the animals at all times)... I heard the phrase 'glamping' (glamourous camping) last night and I am pretty sure these tents fit the bill. To see more painstakingly beautiful african tent camps visit: Perfect Africa (all photos are from there)

Flea market finds repurposed

Better Homes and Gardens had this cute article on flea market finds in new uses, and I wanted to share...
Vintage chicken coop contraptions douple as a magazine rack
Old shutters dress up an empty wall
Banisters create the perfect mail holder
Salvaled molding turned shelving adds an architectual element

I love these old clocks turned creative sculpture

Mantle as headboard
Frame with pages from a book or music make a great statement
Salvaged tin surrounding this bath give it a unique look
an old plate stand holder, I would love to come across something like this!

Thanks BHG for the photos!
