So I have been one horrible blogger lately. I have two excuses... 1. I have had no creative juices flowing, and I had to go back to school for 10 days (eww.) 2. We went to Africa for a couple weeks in October! So, I have posted a few pictures to give you a glimpse of this amazing vacation that my parents put together for my family. We traveled to South Africa, Botswana and Mozambique, it was the best family vacation to date, all thanks to my mom and dad. Anyway here are some pics!

A very late September post

This is a very very belated post, but my computer refuses to allow any new pictures to be put on it, finding a new interum computer to hold my photos proved difficut. Anyway my friend Laura and I took a hike up to Taggart Lake in mid September and we took along little Lucy, who Laura has been babysitting for the past couple months, and who is also my boss at Lily and Co.'s daughter. It was a very fun day, and as always Lucy was happy as a clam!

So, a continuation of blog perusing brought me to coco + kelley blog which featured this 'room' of the week which isn't really a room per say but SO much better! Sign me up...I guess I need to 1. learn how to sail 2. take a trip to the Nile where this gorgeous boat is.

Summer time!

So I have been a very bad poster as of recently, so I have put up a few pictures capturing what I have been up to the past 2 months...

My cousins and Liz came up this past weekend and we got the privilege to eat up at the top of the gondola which was quite a treat!

This was a hike up Avalanche Canyon with Emily and Cara, the lake was a bit to chilly to jump in...

Em's and I were able to pick up some vases from a wedding at the top of the gondola...we get paid for this?!

We had a 4th of July bbq at the house complete with a jumping show by these talented friends of mine...good thing no heads were hit or legs broken!

Resi, Kevin, Hads Emily and I went camping up at Leigh Lake and we kayaked/canoed to the was perfect except for the millions of mosquito's that attacked us immediately after stepping off the boat...yikes!

Wedding season is here...

Summer wedding season is here, and it started off with a bang at Lily and Co. Our first day home from vacation, Emily and I headed out to Lost Creek ranch to set up a very elaborate wedding. The weather succeeded in putting a damper on the day by raining/snowing/blowing and just being downright ugly. Needless to say the ceremony was moved inside the tent and we didn't need to worry about the flowers wilting! These arrangements were from a couple days ago...we set this wedding up at the Four Seasons, it was a beautiful day and the flowers were gorgeous! These were just some cocktail table arrangements...

San Diego Adventure

As a present to my seven best friends, my parents allowed all of the girls to road trip down to San Diego to stay at our house in La Jolla. So... for ten days we layed in the sun, ate some delicious food and most of all spent time with each other for a celebration of finishing college! It was so much fun, here is a peek at the trip...


This is little Tucker, Sam got him in Anaconda Montana about two weeks ago from the shelter. He is about 12 weeks old, and he is fantastic. They are not sure what kind he is, definetly has some golden retriever but as of what else he is they are not sure!

Earth Day!

I had bought this oil cloth fabric almost a year ago and I hadn't done anything with it, so with the coming of the summer I thought I would make some aprons for Emily and I to wear at Lily doing Sarajane won't be able to seperate us. I made the one for Emily because it was her birthday and I thought I would suprise her with it...and then I made one for myself to. They were super easy, my novice sewing skills could even manage, although I am sure it wasn't all that good for the sewing machine! Anyway just wanted to show them off!

delicious doughnuts!

My best friend Emily came home a couple weekends ago for Spring Break and I of course headed home to be with her! Well, I had seen Giada make these doughnuts on foodnetwork and really really wanted to give them shot. Well, they not only were just as simple as Miss Giada said they would be, they also were oh so delicious. So I am highly recommending these, the picture below is not our doughnuts (primary reason being they were consumed immediatly and just didn't look as good as hers!) but Giada's. Make sure and do the chocolate sauce too, thats what makes them!

Vegetable oil for frying 1 pound prepared pizza dough
3/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Pour equal parts of vegetable oil and olive oil into a large frying pan to reach a depth of 2 inches. Heat the oil over medium heat until a deep-fry thermometer registers 375 degrees F.

Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to 1/2-inch thickness. Using a floured 2-inch cookie cutter, cut out doughnut rounds. Using a floured 1-inch cookie cutter, cut out a hole in the center of each doughnut. Gather the dough scraps and re-roll to cut out more doughnuts. Whisk the sugar and cinnamon in a medium bowl to blend. Set the cinnamon-sugar aside. When the oil is hot, working in batches, fry the doughnuts until they puff but are still pale, about 45 seconds per side. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the doughnuts to paper towels to drain. Cool slightly. While the doughnuts are still warm, add to the bowl with cinnamon-sugar and generously coat each 2 times with the cinnamon-sugar. Serve warm.
Alternately, cool the fried doughnuts to room temperature. Stir 3 ounces of milk chocolate and 1/4 cup of whipping cream in a heavy small saucepan over medium-low heat until the chocolate melts. Set aside until the chocolate sauce comes to room temperature but does not set. Dip 1 side of each doughnut into the chocolate mixture. Sprinkle with finely chopped toasted almonds or crushed espresso beans and set aside until the chocolate is set.

Tamarindo Beach

I just got back from 10 amazing days in Costa Rica with Sam and our friend Ian and his girlfriend. We traveled all around the country ending with a few fabulous days laying by the beach. I thought I would share some of the pictures from the vacation.

Hurray for my easy spring time wreath. I decided to put it add it because a fellow blogger reminded me of it, and how easy it was to do. $10.00 later and presto a spring wreath that adornes my very bare bathroom wall.
